Storm brings quarter-sized hail, some flooding to Tampa Bay
A thunderous storm whipped through Tampa Bay on Monday evening, flooding streets and pelting cars and homes with hail the size of quarters in some areas. By 7 p.m., the worst of the storm was over with no reports of storm damage, said 10Weather WTSP meteorologist Ric Kearbey. Hail rained down on parts of Manatee, Hillsborough and Pasco counties, Kearbey said. Radar also indicated winds that exceeded 60 mph.
